ANNOUNCING TEAM ON FIRE’S OWN
2013 BEACHBODY CHALLENGE
GRAND PRIZE WINNER
*Life before change was full of excuses. I ate out a lot and made things for dinner that were “easy.” I didn’t work out because I was too tired. I looked in the mirror and didn’t even know who was looking back at my anymore. I was miserable both inside and out.
*My best friend and coach. She has four children and is in the best shape of her life. We both turned 30 this year and I knew this had to be the time to change. I hit bottom around Christmas. Having two children in two years was no longer an excuse to carry this weight. It was a REASON to lose the weight. For the two most important people in my life!
*Any time I have tried to make a change, sticking with that change has been the hardest. I would do great the first few weeks, have a bad week, and then give up. I would convince myself that I was never going to lose the weight. Beachbody changed that. It made me accountable. I logged my workouts, checked in with my coach and drank my shakes daily. I began Shakeology in January after one week I was already feeling great. I was gaining confidence and seeing results. I lost 11 pounds in 11 days. There was no stopping me! When I began Les Mills Pump in February I had lost 18 pounds and knew it was time to incorporate exercise ( I was just walking at this point).
*My coach recommended that I give it a try. She knew that I had done BodyPump at the gym years ago and liked it. She told me there were charts that would tell me exactly what to do and I would love the music. She hit the nail on the head. I used my charts daily. Each time I completed a workout, I put a sticker on my chart; it’s the teacher in me! After just one month of Pump I was amazed at what I was seeing in the mirror. I was really sticking with it this time and beginning to inspire others too.
*The schedule! I copied them and made my own sticker chart. It explained exactly what I was supposed to do daily and held me accountable. The feeling I had when I finished a tough workout was priceless. I LOVE the program.
*It’s not just the measurements and weight that changed, but also my confidence. I lost over 70 pounds doing this program. I went from a size 16 pant to a size 4. My mom kept saying that she never believed the results she saw on TV, but I was living proof that it can be done. I also loved how at the end of the workout you feel on top of the world. I would highly recommend (and have) the program to anyone who is ready for a positive change. You WILL see results. I am proud that I stuck with the program. It was motivational and fun. I looked forward to my workout each day. That was a big change. Working out in the past always seemed like such a burden. Now it was a positive part of my life.
*Everything in my life has changed. My husband ordered weights and we now do Pump together. My three year old son knows the name of each workout and thinks clean and press is the best thing ever. My mother and father are both beginning to lose weight as well as some of my extended family members. I realize that I am an inspiration to people and truthfully, that is the best life change I could ask for. I want people to see that it can be done. I make dinner at home and we eat as a family. My son is trying new food now and my one year old daughter is being exposed to much healthier choices. We eat whole foods; lots of fruits and vegetables. We go to parks now and do a lot more physical things as a family. Our evenings are no longer spend watching the television!
Logging my workouts daily on the website was a great tool. It made me feel so accomplished when I could hit the “submit” button. I was too tired. I looked in the mirror and didn’t even know who was looking back at my anymore. I was miserable both inside and out.
